Karen Fuller Owner/ Director of Operations
Karen Fuller is an enthusiastic entrepreneur who is dedicated to providing quality, personalized service to property owners at a reasonable cost. Karen believes this can be achieved by providing excellent customer service to both the property owners and renters, not nickel and diming property owners for minor repairs, keeping costs low, and communicating frequently with property owners about their property.
Karen graduated from the University of Houston with a Bachelor's and then a Master's Degree in Communication Disorders. She worked as a Speech-Language Pathologist from 2000- 2007. Working as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Karen treated adults and children in the school and hospital settings. She learned the importance of professionalism, frequent communication, and the importance of developing relationships with her patients, patients' families, and colleagues.
In addition to her work as a Speech-Language Pathologist, Karen and her husband, William, began investing in real estate in 2001. They own multiple investment properties and have purchased, renovated, and sold numerous homes.
Karen, William, and her son, Lucas, are residents of Summit County. They enjoy many of the outdoor activities that the county has to offer, including skiing, hiking, and biking. They also enjoy traveling and visiting family in Texas.
OUR BEGINNINGS:Summit County Mountain Retreats began in 2008. When researching various property management options for her own property, Karen was amazed at the high fees that other companies charge for their services. As a longtime real estate investor who prefers to keep as much profit as possible, Karen researched other options.
After researching alternatives to the traditional management companies, Karen decided to utilize the power of the Internet and the best vacation rental websites to market her own property. After a few months, Karen evaluated the actual revenue generated by her property and compared this to statistics of other comparable properties that are managed by the big name companies. Not only did she keep almost all of the profit, she also discovered that her efforts created more total revenue than comparative properties managed by other companies.
It was at this point that Summit County Mountain Retreats began developing its unique system. Our foundational principles are simple. Cut out as much overhead as possible while maintaining a service level that meets or exceeds the best traditional management companies.
Though we are still a young company, we are also the most innovative in the industry. We believe there is a paradigm shift taking place in the property management business, and we are the leaders in this evolving business.
