Great short stay for family ski trip
Great condo. Kitchen had everything we needed. Comfy bed. Great location, nice swimming pool amenities next door and right at shops and restaurants. Short walk to gondola. Only downside was that one of the elevators - the one accessing the parking garage - was out of order.- Reviewed On: 1/2/2025

Wow, what a breath of fresh air! Seriously, the balcony was awesome. We stayed for a week, so there was a lot of down time when I was working, and was able to look down toward the mini golf course and watch my wife and son playing while I was reading or writing. My toddler became obsessed with playing pool, as his barely visible head above the tail of the table was eyeing his next shot. We didn’t have air conditioning… but there was plenty of room in the pool to cool off.
Oh, and being right above Keystone, it was pretty cool that we got to ride the gondola during the summer with our Epic Pass.
You’re going to love the way you feel watching the sun hide behind the mountains on breck ridge to the west.
Highly recommend driving up to Loveland pass after dark for some stargazing.

My only complaint, that I called about as soon as I checked in, was the condition of the carpet in the living room - I did not want to be blamed and charged. There were dark black spots right in the entry. The living room carpet definitely needs professional deep cleaning in this unit. Besides that, all other areas were clean, and eveything was in working order. The kitchen had a refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. It was fully stocked with pots/pans, dishes and silverware - we only cooked once, but did go to the grocery store in the next town for simple things like fruit, etc. I loved having the fireplace for the cool nights. Buffalo Lodge is in a village called River Run with several other condo buildings, shops, and restaurants. The exterior amenities included large lobby with pool tables, hot tub, and swimming pool. There was private underground parking. All entrances were secured requiring key card for entry. The lifts and gondelas were also in this area and we got up the nerves to take a ride up to the top of the Rockies that had a beautiful view and a mountain top restaurant. Since we rented a vehicle we were able to venture out to the surrounding towns; went to an art festival and did some shopping at the outlet mall and some other local stores. I had a wonderful time in Keystone and took great pictures of the beautiful scenery.- Reviewed On: 5/18/2022

Great location for ski in/out

Nice place
This place was very clean and beautifully decorated. The kitchen was well stocked and we had everything we needed. The only complaint is that the bedroom was very warm even with the windows wide open.- Reviewed On: 10/12/2020

The condo was nice and even though older, in very good condition. We had access to everything that we would need during our weekend stay, to include a fully equipped kitchen. Hot tubs on the main level were a nicety to enjoy, especially after being out on the slopes all day. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: I was in Keystone for a conference and was there for five days. Overall the condo was very nice. My only complaint, that I called about as soon as I checked in, was the condition of the carpet in the living room - I did not want to be blamed and charged. There were dark black spots right in the entry. The living room carpet definitely needs professional deep cleaning in this unit. Besides that, all other areas were clean, and eveything was in working order. The kitchen had a refrigerator with ice maker, stove, microwave, and dishwasher. It was fully stocked with pots/pans, dishes and silverware - we only cooked once, but did go to the grocery store in the next town for simple things like fruit, etc. I loved having the fireplace for the cool nights. Buffalo Lodge is in a village called River Run with several other condo buildings, shops, and restaurants. The exterior amenities included large lobby with pool tables, hot tub, and swimming pool. There was private underground parking. All entrances were secured requiring key card for entry. The lifts and gondelas were also in this area and we got up the nerves to take a ride up to the top of the Rockies that had a beautiful view and a mountain top restaurant. Since we rented a vehicle we were able to venture out to the surrounding towns; went to an art festival and did some shopping at the outlet mall and some other local stores. I had a wonderful time in Keystone and took great pictures of the beautiful scenery.- Reviewed On: 7/31/2018

I was able to rent direct through them for less than VRBO advertised. Their communication throughout the process was top notch. Our condo was beautifully appointed. We thought we had an issue with the fireplace (we didn’t), but their maintenance staff was pleasant, responsive and helpful over the phone. Great discounts at the ski rental shop. We skied Breckenridge during the day and then drove to Keystone in the afternoon to check into this place. Overall, it was a great place to stay, and exactly as advertised in the pictures/description. We were able to walk to restaurants/bars around the area, and it was just a couple minutes walk to the slopes in the morning. Great spot for the price given its location. Hot tubs and pool tables in the lounge area. Easy check-in/check-out. Also had a fridge to chill the beers and an oven/microwave to warm up our biscuits and gravy in the morning.
Bonuses:
Even though we checked out in the morning, we were still able to leave our car in the garage for the day with all our stuff so we could drive back to Denver that night (though we had to be let in the building because we had already turned in our room keys). However, you can request a later check-out (1 pm or 6 pm) for a nominal fee, which is nice if you wanted to walk back for lunch (food is expensive on the mountain) or get cleaned up at night before leaving.
We also wound up having an additional guest come with us last minute, and the Summit County Mountain Retreats provided us with an air mattress ($15 charge). It was a little tight sleeping 5 people, but the listing was only for 4 people so we we knew that was to be expected and were just glad that we were able to have a nice place to crash for the night (and we weren't charged for the additional guest).- Reviewed On: 2/6/2016

My wife and I stayed at the Buffalo Lodge and it was exactly as described and pictured! (NOT like other property management types that "look similar".) The room had everything we needed for our weekend stay and was really clean! The kitchen was equipped with pots, pans, and plenty of silverware. Even a cheese grater which came in handy. The freezer had an ice maker which was AWESOME! The private balcony was indeed private and had two chairs.
The staff was polite and helpful. We got help from Troy who lent us a jack and crowbar when we had a flat. He even offered to change our tire but we didn't want him to get in trouble.
We took advantage of the hot tubs and the pool tables. There was even a life size chess board and checkers board on the property that they didn't mention so it was a cool bonus.
Another cool bonus was that there was a music/food festival going on around the resort that weekend so we had access to great food and music along with an amazing firework show that was visible from our private balcony. I doubt others can expect the same on their trip but we noticed a calendar for the resort that mentioned other events going on throughout the year. Be sure to check that out online.

My wife and I stayed at the Buffalo Lodge and it was exactly as described and pictured! (NOT like other property management types that "look similar".) The room had everything we needed for our weekend stay and was really clean! The kitchen was equipped with pots, pans, and plenty of silverware. Even a cheese grater which came in handy. The freezer had an ice maker which was AWESOME! The private balcony was indeed private and had two chairs.

We arrived to the spectacular beauty of Keystone, CO and knew we picked the right spot to experience a most special and rejuvenating time as a family. Unfortunately, our baby developed hypoxia/altitude sickness and we were given doctors' orders to take her to lower altitude in Denver. Summit Co staff were wonderfully helpful in referring us to an Emergency Room where our baby was treated for dangerously low oxygen levels and treated with exceptional care. We are thankful for this referral. Before departing Keystone, we briefly visited the condo in Buffalo lodge to retrieve a few non perishable groceries that Peak Provisions so kindly delivered and to distribute perishables to some vacationers we met in the lobby (we hated to see such beautiful food go to waste). During our brief encounter with the condo, we found it to be immaculately clean and well furnished with a marvelous view of the resort and mountains. It was cozy and would have made the most lovely vacation home away from home. We were very disappointed to have to leave it unoccupied; however, we were thankful for our daughter's health and stayed focused on taking her to lower ground. The only negative aspect in re to the rental is that we will not be refunded our money. We failed to purchase the trip insurance. So we lost our $400+ rental and fees and also had to pay another $400+ for accommodations in Denver. We saved for a year to take this trip, so we are disappointed that something couldn't be worked out per the emergent nature of our departure. We have no doubt, though, that if our baby had not developed hypoxia/altitude sickness this trip would have been perfect! The Condo fit us perpectly and was very pretty. If we had to say anything it would be; clean the furniture and cushions more, I dropped a pillow on the floor from the chair and so much dust came off of it, the shower head definitely needs to be updated and the vent in the bathroom was covered with dust as though it hadn't been cleaned in years. I stayed in this unit from Feb 10 - Feb 14, 2010 and really enjoyed this unit. The unit was very clean, the king sized bed was very comfortable, and the pull out sofa was also very comfortable. The details on the description states that you can sleep 4 people, and I would agree with that. Two other things that were very positive were the heated garage and access to the Dakota Lodge hot tubs & sauna.
