We LOVED the location! Keystone village was amazing! The place was nice and clean. I will say it was hot. There were fans but they only pushed hot air around. So if heat bothers you, pay attention to the temp. The condo got up to 90 almost every day and didn’t cool off until the middle of the night with the living room and slider open. Very nice place and area.

Thanks for the great review! We're glad you enjoyed the condo and especially the location in Keystone Village.
We do want to note that the property does not advertise or offer A/C, and box fans are provided in each bedroom for warmer summer days. Since this is a top-floor unit, it can naturally retain more heat, but opening the windows allows the cooler mountain air in and the condo typically cools down fairly quickly.
We appreciate you sharing your experience and hope to have you back again!

The apartment is clean and larger than I anticipated. It would be great if the windows had screens so we could leave them open at night to cool down. The pool and hot tubs were also a nice feature. Walkable to restaurants and activities.

Great experience, we would rent this exact unit again. Great view of the mountains and to the west. Easy walk to the gondola, the family enjoyed the hot tubs and pool, vicinity to restaurants and bars. Easy to park. Living space was set up well and we were able to host dinners and game night several nights during the week with other families.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This property reflects pride of ownership and was perfect for our party’s needs consisting of 2 couples. The property has a nice view and was in great condition with newer flooring and furniture. The conversation grouping with couch and chair in the living area was very useful for socializing. When we arrived, we were very impressed and pleased with the high level of cleanliness of the condo, Kudos to the cleaning crew! We contacted Summit Mountain Retreats with a request for coffee that was missing and an additional condo key for our party which were promptly provided. Those planning to rent should be aware that as a penthouse condo, slanting eves reduce the size of the bedrooms. The smaller of the two bedrooms is limited to a skylight that can be cracked open an inch or so for air which could be problematic during hot spells. However, there were multiple electric fans in the condo. The kitchen prep area was nicely equipped and a bit cramped, appropriate for one occupant at a time.

We are glad to hear that this unit was able to accommodate this group's needs during their stay due to the configuration and updates that have been made! We do take pride in the services we provide to ensure that guests enjoy their stay as much as possible! We hope to host these guests in the future in Summit County!

If you are looking for a great space to have a couples trip or, in our case, a small birthday celebration in the mountains - this is the spot for you. Absolutely would book again: Communication was quick & easy to understand, the unit is on the top floor AND is an end unit so we heard no one else and hope no one else heard us either! The kitchen had most of the cooking supplies you would need, except oil and a cooking sheet, but we were easily able to purchase these items at the market that's just steps away.
This is an easy walk to the gondolas and the underground parking spot was safe for us all weekend. Recommend unloading in the garage and getting a free cart they have on site to get your stuff up. The stairs near the unit exit right into the hot tub area for ease of access. The ski locker did not fit all of our gear but was still nice to have and the rest was fine left out on the patio. Could not have been happier with the king beds and the pullout couch - hope to return soon!

Walking to lifts in keystone has always been a thing and it still is, so it was as expected. Rental company was responsive to our requests. One negative was when they told me to call another number to clean up a mess in the garage I reported. That was odd...they should have done the calling not me. Secondly, no one had cleaned under the furniture. Lastly, new, larger frying pans are needed. Overall great stay.

We were able to cook the well appointed kitchen and had plenty of space to play, relax, and work. The beds were very comfy and we loved the view from the master bedroom. Last, the communication with management was amazing! They were responsive and accommodating. We'd come again for sure!

We used this property as a ‘work from home’ location during quarantine. So we needed really good WiFi and cellular connections - and both worked great. We worked on East Coast time and spent late afternoons hiking in the area (Lake Dillon and near Breckenridge). And there’s a great walking trail that runs along the river right outside. River Run has great restaurants to walk to for b’fast, lunch and dinner. Over the weekend we tried fly fishing for the first time (near Steamboat) and visited RMNP. Perfect trip. The condo was just the right size - and had everything we needed. And the check in process was THE BEST of any VRBO or AirBnB that we’ve ever used. Hope to return in Ski Season.

We realize that anything other than perfection when it comes to bedding is unacceptable. We are truly sorry for this. Sheets on all beds are changed after each guest stay, regardless of whether a bed appears to be slept in. Though it is not okay for hairs to be in the bedding, there are many possible sources other than the sheets not being changed.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: This was our second time here. Both where good stays.Really like the condo at 8540 with the ski views. The one big improvement needed is access to building and rooms and pool with key cards that constantly fail. Very frustrating. No fun standing in the bitter cold in wet swim suit trying to get in building. Also numerous families waiting at front doors as their keys not working or they forgot their key. It was a Huge hassel.

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was spotless. I was very happy with the location. I was very satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The 2 bedroom unit was clean and well kept. There were hotel soaps and toiletries in each room, enough for 2 days. If staying longer, bring extra. There were tissues, paper towel, and lots of towels for the stay. The view of the mountain from the top floor was absolutely wonderful. Plenty of extra blankets and pillows if needed. They had 3 fans provided, humidifiers in the closet if needed as well as a pack n play at the ready. Really family focused and the kitchen had the basics if we had decided to cook. The couch is a little tired, but in good condition and both queen beds were very comfortable. There are 3 modern tv's and netflix was available in the master. Very nice feature. The room was quiet and an easy 5-10 min. walk to the little village of Keystone and the lifts are maybe a 15 min walk in ski boots. This is our second stay at Dakota lodge and the building is very clean and well maintained and we like that it isn't in the center to avoid the extra noise from the restaurants at night so kids can crash. Parking garage is easy to utilize. We had to call the office twice for assistance with opening the ski storage and an issue with a neighbor. They immediately notified Keystone and assistance on both occasions was there within 5 minutes. We prefer Keystone due to family atmosphere and that you don't need a car or to take the shuttle to go out to dinner like in Breckenridge or Beaver Creek. Kids love the ski school here and the mountain has lots of options for various levels. FYI- The Sauna is co-ed so bring a bathing suit and the pool and hot tub outside are very clean.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We've stayed in several of the units in River Run at Buffalo and Dakota lodge. We've never been disappointed and this was no exception. The unit was well stocked, the fireplace worked flawlessly, and the kitchen was well stocked. There was initially a lack of a skillet for making breakfast which was resolved within the hour. Overall, we love location and this unit was great. Over the years, we're noticing some of the building's amenities are becoming well used. While the party room is still a beautiful escape, the pool tables are becoming worn (one was ripped) and the pool/hottubs are aging. One hottub was experiencing issues while we were there. This isn't unexpected, hopefully they continue to invest in maintenance and updates.

The view from the living room/kitchen is incredible with all the windows and I loved the vaulted ceilings. This condo felt like home. The kitchen was fully stocked with everything we needed to make meals at home and there was plenty of space in the bedrooms and bathrooms for storage. There were tons of extra towels, blankets and pillows as well as a whole basket of classic DVDs in the living room. The pilot light for the fireplace was out when we arrived so I called maintenance and they had it fixed within a few hours of our arrival which I was very impressed with. Both mattresses were very soft which some people may like, for us it was a little too soft, but that's just personal preference. Other than the mattresses, we absolutely loved staying here!

This condo is much more impressive in person than the photos. The immense ceilings make it feel very big and cozy. The newly renovated kitchen is absolutely gorgeous (even though we didn't use it). This unit is spacious enough for the 4 adults we had on our trip. The beds/bedrooms are cozy and very comfortable.
The thing we enjoyed most was the games that were available. We found our new favorite game and enjoyed hours of laughs so thanks for that great touch!
Another HUGE plus is the units proximity to the elevator and garage. We've stayed in many other Keystone River Run condos and that can be a huge pain. I highly recommend this unit and will very likely rent it again!

There was enough room inside that we used it as a gathering place for all 5 groomsmen to dress and get ready and still had space to spread out. Kitchen was fully stocked with cooking accessories and bathrooms fully stocked with extra towels. We used the humidifiers stored in the closets and they were a lifesaver in the dry mountain air. Several reviewers complained about the couch, while it is older there is nothing wrong with it and it is still comfortable. I'm quite tall and could lay down all the way. Can't think of anything I would change, would definitely stay there again.

No air conditioning, but after opening the windows and slider, it cooled off during the night. Lots of activities in the area for family summer vacation. My family enjoyed the pool, hot tubs and mini golf at The Dakota. Free gondola rides at Breckenridge with a good number of fun activities at the summit (those aren't free). Keystone also has a number of family activities; free gondola rides on Friday afternoon with some free family activities at the summit. Great restaurants in the area; check Frisco out as they have a number of diverse restaurants (i.e.; The Lost Cajun, Butterhorn Bakery, The Boat Yard). Close by is the Dillon Dam Brewery and The Red Mountain Grill; both very good. Silverthorne has a nice outlet mall.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: We stayed the first week of June when resort restaurants were closed, which made for a lovely quiet and restful vacation! We almost had the pool and hot tub to ourselves every afternoon. The hikes were snow-free (mostly) Ptarmigan peak, Mesa Cortina to Waterfall and Gore Range Trail, (buffalo cabin had a bit of snow). Condo very roomy and lots of fans helped us cool it down in evening. Being on top floor means no hearing people uostairs! The coffee was good, fridge and all appliances clean. Nice place for quiet hiking vacation with our teens. Very easy to pick up keys, there was elevator with carts for bringing up our stuff (no carrying up multiple flights!) Beautiful building and the pool area faced beautiful mountains.

Nice place for quiet hiking vacation with our teens. Very easy to pick up keys, there was elevator with carts for bringing up our stuff (no carrying up multiple flights!) Beautiful building and the pool area faced beautiful mountains.

We've stayed at Keystone several times (rented in Black Bear and Dakota) and this unit was by far our favorite. The views from the huge windows were awesome. The beds were really comfortable and we loved the sectional couch. The living room felt really spacious with the super high ceilings. Everything was clean and there were lots of extra blankets and pillows- always nice! We will definitely come back to this unit again!!

We were able to walk to the gondola every morning and to the hot tub after a long day of skiing. The condo itself was in great condition and very clean. The beds were extremely comfortable and the carpet looked new. The sectional sofa provided tons of seating for 4 adults. The only problem we had was that property management turned off the water from 11am-5pm. Being early season some building maintence is to be expected. We will definitely stay here again!!
