mount royal & masontown

If you’re looking for a challenge, Mount Royal and Masontown are classic Frisco hikes that combine steep climbs with rich mining history and sweeping views of Frisco and the surrounding mountains. Masontown, an abandoned mining camp left behind in the early 1900s and later destroyed by an avalanche in 1926, still holds visible remnants like brick foundations and mine shaft tailings. Please leave any historic artifacts where you find them for others to enjoy.
